Contest rules

  • Must register for contest at the clubhouse. Unregistered contestants will not be eligible.

  • Must be a resident of Blackstone over the age of 18 to register.

    • This is a family fun contest, and we encourage people of all ages to unleash their creativity. We just need to ensure there is adult supervision.

  • Any props and/or decor must be hand made. Commercially purchased products will not be accepted.

  • Safety First! Your prop and/or decor cannot have sharp edges, cannot be a fire hazard, cannot contain choke hazards, nor be hazardous in any way, and cannot easily break apart or be damaged if touched or bumped into. If the Halloween Committee deems the item to be dangerous the committee will work with you to remedy the matter.

    • Thousands of kids and adults attend this event every year. Let's be real, kids get curious and grabby, and some adults get a little wobbly... It needs to hold up in high traffic.

  • Low voltage LED lights only. No incandescent or halogen bulbs of any kind can be used.

  • Any electrical wiring must have properly secured connections and operate off a standard 110V plug or be battery operated.

  • Wall or ceiling mounted props must be able to securely fasten without risk of falling or breaking apart.

    • Again, kids get grabby and adults get wobbly. We can't have people getting injured from falling space debris.

  • Prop and/or decor must be delivered to the Blackstone Clubhouse by September 1st. Designers have until October 23rd to make any details or adjustments.

  • Prop and/or decor will be judged on Attention to Detail, Ingenuity, Craftsmanship, and "wow" factor.

  • The Halloween Committee will be available during the build time to answer any questions and for build and design guidance. Don't hesitate to reach out, we are happy to help each builder any way we can. Contact the Clubhouse to get contact information.

We are here to help and guide you however we can.

The Halloween committee will host multiple get togethers to offer assistance, advice, or help you generate ideas for your build. All dates will be listed on calendar below.
